No Red Carpet Was Safe From the Crop Top This Summer

If there was a crop top to be worn, the stars knew about it this Summer. And with all the midriff bearing, what was once a risky trend became downright business as usual by the close of the season. With everyone from Emma Stone to Sarah Hyland showing flesh on carpets as ceremonious as the Emmy Awards, this trend had certainly peaked by August. While it’s a safe bet that the style isn’t going anywhere soon, with crop tops flooding the Fall 2014 runways, we’re certain that this separate had its best months ever - and here’s why.

Get Ready to Love Abercrombie & Fitch Again as Much as You Did in High School

Out with the old and in with the new, that’s the mantra of Abercrombie & Fitch these days. The label you may associate with mall hopping in your teen years and easy, beachy t-shirts is getting a bit of a face lift (hey, we all have to grow up eventually).

The first and most noticeable step in the makeover comes with the elimination of logos across all attire, and come Spring, that branding will reportedly be reduced to “practically nothing.”

The move is a reaction to declining sales - while there was a time that wearing an Abercrombie & Fitch tee was a status symbol, those days have passed. In addition to updating the stores’ notoriously noisy vibes and toning down those racy logos (sorry!) there’s a major fashion overhaul coming your way - see a sign of things to come in the gallery.

With Style This Good, These Emmy Noms Are Already Winning

The 2014 Emmy-nominated actresses have more than one talent. When they’re not acting in our favorite shows, they’re probably showing off our favorite looks, because beyond television, these women have real-life style.

For others, who may play orange-jumpsuit-clad prisoners, that’s just not the case. Now Fashion Week Is Even Shorter Than We Thought

OK – it’ll only be shorter by two hours. But When Marc Jacobs announced he’d be moving his show to the 6 p.m. time slot on Sept. 11, instead of the usual 8 p.m., we really started to sense the changes that are to come. But the good news is all of these modifications to the NYFW schedule are for good reason. Marc’s minor switch is simply a courteous move to allow the editors traveling to London a little extra time to get to the airport. And, that’s not the only way we’re seeing a boost in efficiency.

A few weeks ago the CFDA took to Instagram with a major announcement that the organization has officially acquired the Fashion Calendar. As president, Diane von Furstenberg plans to better oversee the management of Fashion Week – from runway shows to events - in order to maintain the foundation of the industry, which consists of the press, retailers, and, of course, designers.

In short, this should make for a bright future. After all, in the time it takes to scroll through an Instagram feed - and digest all the day’s news – a runway show begins and ends. With the rapid pace of Fashion Week, the industry stands to benefit from the highly organized minds at the CFDA, and if last year is any indication, this is sure to be only the first of many shake-ups.
